His Story So Far
Zhero grew up in a Gridanian Orphanage, with five other children, him being the youngest. He always played war with his family, fond of playing the heroic knight. During his teen years, he was separated from the orphanage as it was destroyed during the calamity.
He lived 'wild' in the shroud for a short period of time, learning to survive by watching Keeper tribes trap and hunt. That was before being discovered by a Sharlayan Gleaner, while trying to scavenge. This gleaner took him into his care, giving him work as an apprentice gleaner during his later teen years. He stayed mostly abroad and met with his adoptive-guardian periodically.
Zhero then decided he wanted to travel as an adventurer, and not as a gatherer, as he often met many adventurers on the road and amongst inn taverns he stayed at. This is when he changed his name to Zen and finally travelled to Ul'dah to study the blade like he dreamt of doing.
Because of his wanderings, he never stayed in one place long enough to get close to anyone, resulting in him oft keeping himself closed off and reserved. This is the main contributing factor that led to his primarily non-speaking nature.

It was hard for him to feel at home with the Scions at first, but he did still enjoy their immovable presence, unlike the adventurers with whom he would take on his tasks and forays with, as he would enlist other WoLs and adventurers to aid him.

Travel companions: Mini Midgardsormr, Battle Drake, Amaro, Black Coeurl Kitten (Shanoa)
Favourite snacks: Bubble chocolates, Finger Sandwiches, Coffee Biscuits, Peach Tarts, Hot Cocoa- He is partially blind following the events of Keeper of The Lake. It's similar to Y'shtola's aether vision, but more solid, just slightly aether clouded. He has aetherically balanced lenses to counteract this if it's ever too overwhelming for him.
(The vision is similar to astigmatism, where in this case, aether is the cause of blur)
- Zen does not like to speak vocally. Of course, he is obligated to at times, so will often use as little words as possible, and otherwise will keep to himself.
- Certified Brother of Ash (Amalj'aa Tribal Questline) His drake is a close companion of his and he likes to take it when he goes gathering!
- Some sort of multi-class amalgamation of Paladin, primarily, with RDM (post-STB) and SGE (post -EDW). He has cross-class abilities because of this, namely job trademarks like Requiescat, Passage of arms, Fleche/Contre Sixte, Haima, and Icarus.
- Zen is definitely trans. How this works is in Eorzea is up to interpretation, but the particulars aren’t important. He “transitioned” when he was young. His body parts are not relevant.
- Always has a little bit of dirt/mud on him, somewhere. Same with random blood, too. Usually his own from clumsy accidents or stubborn unhealed wounds .

Other Names
Zhero’a (X'zhero)
Zen’s given name is mixed of that of a Keeper, attributed to being raised in an orphanage in Gridania with primarily other keepers. This comes from his birth name, X'zhero. This name is only known to very few, and used by even fewer. He allows only the closest of friends and family to use it. It's usually shortened to just Zhero. While he was the youngest of the kids, he was attributed with the suffix for eldest sons, as the children named themselves.(I.E This was intentional on my end.)

Zetos, the Azem
Zetos is a very perfect version of Zen, but still with all of his quirks. They have a strong theme of ethos about them, being the leader that Zen struggles with. They do not hide their feelings and are very open emotionally. However, they are still equally clumsy and covered in dirt.
